Or we can maybe take a gamble at Griffin. Donovan Warren at CB is also starting to enter the scene with that second 4th rounder and first 5th rounder.

I also think it's time for Gibbs to start picking the OGs. At this point? I think it's par value. For me, he isn't going to be Steve Smith, but more likely a poor-man's Percy Harvin. He's a guy who will struggle in press, he body catches, he isn't lightning quick and he just ran slants, screens and the odd deep ball at ND. He has a lot to develop. But you can let him play some slot, end arounds, screens, runs and kick returns. Get him the ball in space and let him run. Golden Tate is the real deal. He reminds me of Steve Smith. Looks like we got our Spliller type without the high costs. This takes care of our return game. He is a running back and reciever. Not concerned with his height of 5'10. With the additions of R and M Williams we now have a solid reciever core. Pete Carroll knows E. Griffen, Taylor Mays and D. Williams well, so if he passed on them you know they are not that good. Also, WR's like Lafell or Williams would have been a waste because there is a good chance the aquired Wiillams boys might work out as our big WR's. Looks like Branch will be on his way out soon. Now, if we can land Blount or a power RB in round 4, Id say great job to Carroll and company. For those of you who think that Golden Tate at pick 60 wasnt a good pick, I suggests you check out some youtube footage. Golden tate at 60 was the steal of the draft!!Lenny Jamesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5053006193215777292.post-9233445276600943622010-04-23T18:25:33.291-07:002010-04-23T18:25:33.291-07:00Absolutely love the Hawks draft. I have a lot of faith in the Hawks right now.

We gave up a lot more than 20 spots in the second round to get the last backup QB that we traded for (which turned out great) and I wouldn't have been surprised (or disappointed) to see Tate taken 40th so it looks like a great move.Ralphynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5053006193215777292.post-38256271748123390922010-04-23T18:20:49.460-07:002010-04-23T18:20:49.460-07:00So far I have no complaints with the draft. Tate is great once he gets tha ball in his hands, but the key will be getting the seperation to get the QB to throw it to him. Might have perfered Damian Williams for that, but I think Tate has a higher ceiling.

Saturday will be fun to watch with 4 picks in the first 40 or so. I do think there is a possibility they could trade their 4th and 5/6th to get into the end of this 3rd. I expected Tate to go almost 30 picks sooner than this. Brown would have been my choice- since Locklear can never stay healthy and Brown is insane value, but this is still a great selection by Seattle.

Tate is not going to be a #1 in any system let alone Bates', but he could make an exceptionally dangerous #2. His yards after catch ability is 2nd only to Dez Bryant in this draft.

If you aren't jacked about this pick, go check out Walterfootball's WR rankings. Go see where he has Golden Tate.

http://walterfootball.com/draft2010WR.php

Now again, I haven't formed my own opinion on Tate. I've only seen him 1 time, and that was when he demolished the Washington Huskies. I'll take a look at him after the draft, and I might even get game tape and scout him if I can. They addressed 3 major needs and got 3 guys who will start immediately or in Tate's case play a ton. He could have a Royal/Harvin type impact for this offense. I think Berry being taken at 5 was perfect for Seattle because they were forced to go OT and then got a safety who might actually be better than Berry who they would of taken at 6. He also knows Damian Williams and would of selected him if he thought he was better. Tate has a chance to be Steve Smith light and we desperately needed a playmaker and got one in Tate.
