Monday morning mocks

With the majority of mock drafts saying the Seahawks will select Michael Crabtree with the fourth overall pick, today I'm going to look at the possibility of the receiver leaving the board before the Seahawks pick. What are the alternatives for Tim Ruskell and the front office? Later I'll break down some of the possibilities, but first here's some mock drafts to keep you busy.

The case in point - Ramblin Fan, a St Louis Rams fan site, have their franchise picking Crabtree second overall. Consensus opinion is that because the Rams were rumoured to seriously covert Jake Long last year, they will set about taking an offensive tackle this year instead. It's not a foregone conclusion though and the Rams fans clearly think there's a chance they'll take Crabtree. It'd be an interesting pick - offering an alternative to Donnie Avery, adding another weapon to Marc Bulger's arsenal and opening things up for Steven Jackson.

They have Seattle picking Andre Smith, offensive tackle from Alabama. Another mock from The Scouts Notebook also has Crabtree going to the Rams, with the Seahawks instead taking running back Chris 'Beanie' Wells from Ohio State.

NFL News and Rumours has Seattle passing on Crabtree in preference of another Buckeye, corner back Malcolm Jenkins. The rest of the most recently published mocks (The New NFL Draft, New Sport Draft, Sports Fantasy Guide) all have the Texas Tech receiver heading to the North West.
