Another interesting stat for C.J. Spiller

It's easy to be impressed by C.J. Spiller's stat sheet. He scored another touchdown today as Clemson won 34-21 at home to Virginia to celebrate the school's first ever appearance in the ACC Championship game. He has fifteen total scores in 2009 and over 2000 all purpose yards. However, there's one statistic that isn't as well publicised.

In 199 touches this year, Spiller has only fumbled the ball once. Ball security is undoubtedly crucial when teams access running back prospects, so you can put this one on the list alongside elite speed, versatility and massive production.

He'd look good in Seahawk blue.

The Seahawks lack a playmaker who can make things happen. Spiller fits the bill in every way from a character, speed and production perspective.

I watched the game and even though he didn't have great stats...

well, he reminded me of what Adrian Peterson did to us on Sunday... not too much... but the D was so concerned he would do something that their game plan was clearly affected... like when Favre set a 22-25 career pct. record...

The OL/DL MUST

MUST

MUST be improved... but to become elite... we also need at least 1 true playmaker like Spiller... and, yeah, a guy who doesn't fumlbe is even better.

I don't expect Spiller to be nearly as good as AP... but AP is a fumbling machine... maybe he doesn't have to be?
