Fieldguls has a piece about taking Brian Price DT from UCLA with our 40th. Waht is your opinion on this player and where do you see him getting drafted at? Is he a good fit for the Hawks?
I think he's very similar to Brandon Mebane, which is ironic because they both get on very well I'm led to believe.
He's a pure three technique DT for 4-3 schemes. Does a great job getting into the backfield, disruptive. You'd need to push Mebane back into the one position to incoporate them both, but it'd be a good partnership if not the biggest - but that's how Carroll likes his lines.
The only issue I have is his durability, he seems to take a lot of snaps off. I will be posting an article about Price this week because he featured in KC Joyner's brilliant 'Draft Lab' Series this week.
I will be very surprised if he lasts until the #40 pick. If Seattle wants him, they'll have to draft him at #14. That's probably a slight reach in fairness, but he won't be around later on. There's a sufficient need at DT for teams in this draft and with the top guys (Suh, McCoy) going early, he won't fall too far.
