hawks have a private workout with Tebow. #6 Brandon Marshal #14 Charles Brown #40 Tim Tebow 3rd round from Cleveland for Seneca Wallace=Leg. Blount Offense Offense Offense
It will surprise me very much if the Seahawks take Tebow at #40. Getting him in for a private work out may be more about due dilligence and making sure you absolutely know 100% this kid. After all, everything else about Tebow is world class - character, work ethic, athleticism. It'd be detrimental not to explore everything about him and test him out in an individual work out.
However, when push comes to shove the Seahawks know that he's a major long term project and one which they may not be able to afford to wait on. I also think there's a possibility he'll be off the board by #40. Keep an eye on Jacksonville moving down to take him later than #10 (should be interest in ten with a couple of 3-4 teams coming up and guys like Dan Williams available). I also think Buffalo are a wild card to make a move to get him.
I hate to say it, but the interview kind of reminds me of Adam Sandler's Waterboy. JPP, Campbell, Mays, tons of talent, However, I wouldn't touch any of them before the 2nd round.
Wasn't the waterboy a hell of a defensive end though? : )
I agree though, his interviews are pretty rough, probably the least impressive ones I've seen since Michael Crabtree last year. Like you, I wouldn't bet on him with a 1st round pick right now. For a variety of reasons.
Guys like JPP are crack cocaine to NFL coaches, they've all got angels and devils on their shoulders pulling them back and forth. It'll be interesting to see if anyone reaches for him before Oakland at #8. Seattle and Cleveland seem the only plausible teams because Carroll is a wild card and the Walrus has been known to gamble in the first round(Koren, Stevens...) but I'd like to think mike has learned better by now.
Well, he seems like a very nice young man with his head screwed on straight, who has been caught up in a whirlwind. Certainly not polished, but there's nothing inherently wrong with that. He has none of the arrogance of Crabtree and probably just as much if not more natural talent. He is a freak of nature. I would be excited if somewhat jittery if we took him with a 1st. The payoff could be tremendous.
Rob, I agree with the Tebow assessment. I expect Seattle to take hard looks at Clausen and Bradford as well. Doesn't mean they would take him before the 3rd round. JPP strikes me as very immature, and I'd be very concerned about spending a first round pick and throwing all that money at him with only about 9 games of film where he started at S. Florida. And while he has flashed pass-rush talent and athleticism, how has he done defending the run? Is he a 3 down player or just a pass-rush specialist?

Wow. If we pick him, he better be good and dumb.
Rob, SDB just hit 50 followers. Grats.

JPP makes me laugh. I would take him with #40 just to watch his post game interviews for the next decade.
