Pete Carroll on Seattle's draft

Pete Carroll has been speaking to ESPN about Seattle's 2010 NFL Draft, including the thought process behind the two first round picks and the decision to trade for Lendale White and Leon Washington.

Chris Sullivan at Seahawk Addicts posts a transcript from the Russell Okung & Earl Thomas press conference today.

Jon Dove offers his day three grades for each pick.

Rob Rang says Seattle took a risk 'worth taking' on Oregon cornerback Walter Thurmond: "Thurmond had been viewed as a second round pick by most scouts until he tore three ligaments in his knee returning the opening kickoff against Cal in the fourth game of the year. His recovery has been going smoothly enough that he worked out for scouts prior to the draft; though he was unable to perform at the Combine."

NFL.com has a page dedicated to Seattle's 2010 draft. Lots of information on offer and in some cases, highlights and analysis.

Walter Cherepinsky and Matt McGuire offer their draft grades. McGuire gives Seattle an 'A'.

I really don't think I could have asked for a smarter and more effective draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Really, I was simply blown away. The funny thing is, none of the players I drafted made my "list" of guys I hoped we grabbed. Still, when each name was read, especially Okung and Golden Tate, and I was thrilled. The icing on the cake however has got to be Leon Washington. Just terrific, Pete Carroll and John Schneider deserve a serious round of applause. Bravo!

yup, we did a great job. the only place i think we could have done better is getting some more depth at the Oline. We are going to have some major competition going in training camp, I like it. Who knows what the final roster will look like. We got a ton of WRs, we got a bunch of RBs, LB has 4 men for 3 spots, the elephant position has about 3 guys vying for a part time position. This is going to be really fun.

Has it really only been 3 days since we were wondering if Pete Carroll and John Schneider knew what they were doing? If there was any hope for the return to Seahawks glory? 3 days since we were stewing about dropping from 40 to 60, and losing out on players like Golden Tate, all for the sake of someone named Charlie Whitehurst? Well, there was Golden Tate at 60, and they picked him same as they would have if still at 40. And look who is right there with him... Russell Okung, Earl Thomas, LenDale White, Leon Washington, Walter Thurmond, EJ Wilson, Kam Chancellor and Anthony McCoy. Buckle your seatbelts!
ps-maybe this Whitehurst guy will be pretty good, too?

Watch Dexter Davis' combine video from the NFL.com link. He was productive in college too. I know he's undersized, but he looks like a sleeper to me.
