Heyward-Bey heading to the NFL
Maryland's Darrius Heyward-Bey has made the decision to declare for the NFL draft in what is becoming an increasingly strong draft for wide receivers. It's difficult to judge where the Terrapins catcher will rank amongst his peers. He only caught 42 passes for 609 yards in 2008, not enough to be ranked amongst the nations top 120 wide receivers. He was playing in a sub standard offense though and was often depended on too heavily by his team. Matt McGuire projects him as a 1st or 2nd round pick. Seattle needs to improve at wide receiver with Bobby Engram hitting free agency, Deion Branch injury prone and Nate Burleson returning from a serious knee injury.
