Leading rusher Brown heading to the NFL

Donald Brown, the nation's leading running back this year, has announced he will declare for the 2009 NFL draft. His comments followed a dominant 261 yard rushing display leading the Connecticut Huskies to a 38-20 victory against Buffalo in the International Bowl.

Brown had previously said he would remain in school for his senior year, but after gaining over 2000 yards (2083, 18 TD's) this year on 367 carries he's wisely changed his mind. After his huge game against Buffalo, Brown apologised for 'lying' about his intentions stating his desire to avoid distractions ahead of the International Bowl.

Consensus Draft Services project Brown as a third round pick.
