Mike Mayock, NFL Network's draft guru, answered a conference call today to discuss various issues about the draft. He was asked about Seattle and the fourth overall pick, where he predicted it could be a toss up between one of the offensive tackles or Michael Crabtree. He said it was too early for B.J. Raji.
He thinks Matt Stafford (QB, Georgia) will go first overall. He compares Jason Smith (OT, Baylor) to Ryan Clady, an offensive tackle drafted last year by the Denver Broncos. Clady had an exceptional rookie year. He ranked Smith as the top offensive tackle, followed by Eugene Monroe and Andre Smith.

Matt Maiocco reports on the conference call from a 49ers perspective. Mayock says San Francisco could target an offensive tackle, quarter back or pass rusher. He also thinks Malcolm Jenkins (CB, Ohio State) projects better at free safety.
