Sam Bradford to stay with Sooners?

ESPN's Joe Schad is reporting that Sam Bradford will hold a 5:30pm EST press conference where he will announce he is returning to Oklahoma. After recently winning the Heisman Trophy, Bradford's stock was high and reports previously suggested he would declare if he came through the BCS Championship free from injury. Having only started 28 games for the Sooners, it might be a wise move to return. Quarter backs starting less than 35 games in college have traditionally struggled in the pro's. How would this decision affect the Seahawks? With Bradford off the board it dilutes the quality at the top of round one. A prospect Seattle may have been confident of selecting with the fourth pick could end up leaving the board before the 'Hawks are on the clock.

I wonder how might this affect our #4 selection? We certainly won’t have a chance at one of the ‘two’ QBs now, even if that was a consideration by the ‘Hawks’ brain-trust. Purely speculation on my part but I think that this could take one more offensive lineman out of the running could heighten our chances of drafting Crabtree.

What do you think?

Also, how might this affect Sanchez' decision?

Personally, I'm not sure how this changes things. I had Bradford going to Kansas City in my mock draft but that was on the basis that the new Chiefs front office might want 'their own man' at QB. With that option gone, I think it increases the chances of Crabtree going third overall. The Chiefs would offer Tyler Thigpen a perfect platform to prove himself with Bowe, Gonzalez and Crabtree. I doubt they go OT because they have invested in Brendan Albert at LT. They could choose a prospect like Aaron Curry, a linebacker described by some pundits as a prospect you can build a defense around.
